Why do you need to be captivated by Jesus to follow Jesus?

If something captivates you, you will do almost anything despite the cost and difficulty that might be associated with it. The same must be true when it comes to following Jesus. If you aren’t captivated by Jesus, you aren’t going to follow Jesus. You might dabble with Jesus here and there. Invite Him into a portion of our lives, especially if it makes you feel good. But that isn’t following Jesus.
If you aren’t captivated by Jesus, you aren’t going to follow Jesus.
Why is that? Why do you need to be captivated by Jesus to follow Jesus?
